Familiar Games with a Brand-New Twist!

Gameplay: Poker - Collector’s Edition - CardsWithBills

Forming Hands

In Cards With Bills: Poker - Collector’s Edition, players use the 8-digit serial number of their submitted bills to create a "hand." Here are the key rules for forming hands:

  • Serial Number Usage: Players can only use the eight digits of the serial number for forming hands. The letters associated with the serial number (the first one or two letters and the last letter) are not included in the hand formation.

Hand Rankings & Hand Scoring

The hands are ranked based on the following criteria, with examples provided for clarity:

  1. Perfect Match (Rarest): All eight digits in the serial number are identical.
    • Example: "77777777" or "00000000"
    • Points Awarded: 10 times Ante Points
  2. Seven of a Kind: Seven of the eight digits in the serial number are identical.
    • Example: "77777770" or "00000001"
    • Points Awarded: 9 times Ante Points
  3. Six of a Kind: Six of the eight digits in the serial number are identical.
    • Example: "66666612" or "88888803"
    • Points Awarded: 8 times Ante Points
  4. Consecutive Sequence: Five or more digits in the serial number form a consecutive sequence (ascending or descending).
    • Example: "12345678" or "87654321"
    • Points Awarded: 7 times Ante Points
  5. Repeater: The serial number contains a repeating pattern of digits.
    • Example: "12121212" or "34343434"
    • Points Awarded: 6 times Ante Points
  6. Four of a Kind: Four identical digits appear anywhere in the serial number.
    • Example: "44441234" or "12345555"
    • Points Awarded: 5 times Ante Points
  7. Full House: Three of one digit and two of another appear in the serial number.
    • Example: "33322111" or "55566777"
    • Points Awarded: 4 times Ante Points
  8. Three of a Kind: Three identical digits appear anywhere in the serial number.
    • Example: "33345678" or "12333345"
    • Points Awarded: 3 times Ante Points
  9. Two Pair: Two sets of two identical digits appear in the serial number.
    • Example: "11223344" or "55667788"
    • Points Awarded: 2 times Ante Points
  10. One Pair: Two identical digits appear anywhere in the serial number.
    • Example: "11234567" or "12345567"
    • Points Awarded: 1 times Ante Points
  11. High Card: The highest single digit in the serial number is used when no other hand is formed.
    • Example: "12345678" (High Card: 8)
    • Points Awarded: 0 points

Special Features for Collectors

  • Star Notes: If a player has a star note (indicated by a star symbol in the serial number), it can be used as a wild card and may substitute for any digit in their hand.
  • Recognition of Unique Features: Players can agree on recognizing specific features, such as unique Federal Reserve Bank letters or rare series years, for additional points.

Bonus Points

  • Star Note: +1 point
  • Rare Series Year: +1 point (as agreed before the game).

This structure ensures that players have a clear understanding of how to form hands, the rankings of those hands, and how they can earn points throughout the game. Enjoy playing Cards With Bills: Poker - Collector’s Edition!

Meaning of Letters on Money

Each alphabet letter on U.S. dollar bills corresponds to the Federal Reserve Bank that issued the note. The letters range from A to L, with each letter representing one of the 12 Federal Reserve Banks across the country. For example, A represents the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, B represents the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, and so on, up to L for the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco.

The second letter of the serial number also represents the issuing Federal Reserve Bank and ranges from A through L.

Letters O and Z are not used in serial numbers. O is not used because it can resemble the number zero, and Z is reserved for test notes.

The serial number format includes a letter at the end, which can be any letter except O or Z. This letter can occasionally be replaced by a star (*) to indicate that there was a problem with a sheet of notes during production and that a replacement sheet was issued.
